TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Oxford Brookes University advises Mentors and Students to agree to the terms of their business before beginning the mentoring process, through a mentoring agreement that ensures both parties provide a service and make a payment.

The Terms and Conditions are deemed to be a continuation of a "contract" mentoring agreement between me "mentor" and you "mentee" regarding the guidance service offered. The basic terms of the contract are the following:

1. The mentee must ensure that he / she has read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions before proceeding to the mentoring service. If the mentee needs further clarification he / she should contact the mentor before proceeding with the registration.

2. The role of the mentor is that he / she is not expected to be your teacher and should not teach you about the Research and Analysis Project (RAP). Your mentor is there to guide you and ensure that you meet the required standards. Your mentor should not modify or submit your RAP for you. Also, the mentor is not expected to have specialized knowledge within the subject area of your project or academic research methods. Your mentor plays no role in evaluating your RAP beyond the certification provided at Oxford Brookes University.

3. The role of the mentee is that you are expected to work alone. It is recommended that you read the latest Guidance Information Package. You do not have to ask your mentor what you need to do to get through. You should not expect your mentor to give you detailed advice on the structure and content of your Research Report or to write any of your RAPs for you. These decisions and actions are your sole responsibility. The RAP you submitted must be your own work and your research must have been done specifically for RAP. You can not take a workplace research or consulting report and customise it for your RAP.

4. It is the responsibility of the mentee to confirm that he / she meets the requirements for the Oxford Brookes University Bsc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting before joining the mentoring service.

5. It is agreed that the content of the meetings will be confidential. Each meeting will last at least 30 minutes and at most 40 minutes.

6. It is agreed that the mentee will provide a written agenda and material for each meeting at least one week before the meeting.

7. The mentoring service fee is £350.

8. The mentee is obliged to arrange the full charge of the mentoring service of £350 before the start of the mentoring service. If the mentee does not settle his balance, the contract is considered null and void.

9. If the mentee decides not to continue the Research and Analysis Project, he / she is entitled to a refund minus a registration fee of £80. Refunds will only be given if the mentor is notified of the decision to terminate the mentoring service within 30 days of the mentor's registration or before the first mentoring meeting.

10. If the mentee decides to postpone the submission of the Research and Analysis Project to the next submission period, he / she is entitled to the mentoring service in the next submission period, without incurring any additional administration fee before the start of the mentoring.

11. The mentoring service fee for the re-submission is £200 and only applies to mentees who have previously been offered mentoring service. Otherwise, the mentoring service fee for new mentees who will resubmit their projects is £350.

12. The mentor applies a policy of zero tolerance against plagiarism and deception. If the mentee finds that the Research and Analysis Project is not entirely his or her own work or that he or she is cheating, then the mentoring service will be terminated and no refund will be given.
